Monaco suffered a blip last weekend when they unexpectedly drew 3-3 with Ligue 1 strugglers Toulouse, damaging their chances of securing second place in the process. That result followed four straight wins for the current champions, who have looked back to their best in recent weeks. Dumped out of the Champions League before Christmas following a terrible campaign, they have only league position and the French League Cup to play for, which will surely signal a disappointing season for Leonardo Jardim’s team.
Monaco are now two points above third placed Marseille with 11 matches of the season left, and they should have enough to finish above the side in blue and white. Lyon meanwhile are now seven points behind Monaco in fourth and seem as if they may have to settle for a Europa League spot in 2018/19. A big blow has been the loss of prolific Colombian striker Radamel Falcao to injury but he may make it back into the side for this one. Forward Stefan Jovetic has five goals in 11 games, but that is incomparable with Falcao’s 17 in just 20 outings.
Bordeaux meanwhile also had a poor start to 2017/18, but they have managed to turn things around in recent months. They now sit 8th, despite taking one point from their past two games. That did follow four straight victories which got themselves into the top 10. Many Bordeaux fans will have been glad to see the January transfer window come and go without losing Brazilian starlet Malcom, currently suspended, who has been the inspiration for many of his sides best results this campaign.
The side have a mixed bag of fixtures before the end of the season, but with the players within their squad, the minimum achievement should be a top 10 finish.
We advise backing Monaco to score Over 1.5 Team Goals in this one, while for an alternative bet, we are tipping Monaco to win and over 3.5 Match Goals.
Our anytime goalscorer bet advises punters to back Falcao to notch and for our correct score prediction we think the game will finish 3-1 to the hosts.
