It’s not quite been the dream start for new Barnet boss Graham Westley as he has so far failed to lift his new charges from the foot of the Football League but he gets another chance to do that this Tuesday evening as Carlisle United make the trip to the Hive Stadium. With both sides looking like they have shown plenty of signs of improvement in recent weeks, we think that backing them both to hit the back of the net looks to be the way to go.
We are not done there either, as we think that there is further profit to be had in this fixture. Barnet may have the worst home record in League Two at the moment but the last three sides to visit have all failed to claim the points. It’s not as if those sides are poor ones either, as Accrington Stanley, Lincoln and Notts County all have hopes of winning promotion come the end of the season. With this in mind, we think that combining our initial tip of both teams to score with a Barnet victory looks to represent some excellent value for those of you looking for something which offers a higher return.
Barnet will already be well used to seeing both teams hitting the back of the net and it is something which has been continuing of late, with six of their previous nine outings ending up this way. It is something which has followed them around for much of the campaign, as 64% of all their league matches have finished with both teams finding the back of the net.
Speaking of goals, Carlisle are certainly used to goals going in at both ends of the pitch in their away ties and their matches on the road have finished with an average of 3.06 goals per game. The Cumbrians still have hopes of reaching the play-offs but know they cannot afford to drop points against a side at the bottom of the league, so are likely to come out firing.
Head To Head
Carlisle have the better of the head to head between these two sides with a record of 10 wins, five draws and eight defeats. The sides last met in a 1-1 draw back in September.
